Knox Prairie Community Kitchen runs on the goodwill and hard work of community volunteers.
We welcome individuals or groups who are interested in volunteering. To reserve a date for your group, organization, or business, please email us.
Volunteers participate in the following activities:
-
Greet guests at the door and hand out tickets
-
Staff the giveaway tables
-
Serve drinks, assist those with mobility issues, bus tables
-
Work in the kitchen--washing dishes, replenishing drinks for the dining room, etc.
-
Help with clean up of the dining room, kitchen, and storeroom--wiping down tables, putting away supplies, sweeping, mopping, etc.
-
If you have any special skills or experience, and would like to help in other ways, please email us, volunteerkpck@gmail.com
Age and Physical Requirements:
Due to the physical nature of the work, we prefer volunteers to be 12 years of age and older.
If you are a parent or organizational leader and would like younger children to experience volunteerism with KPCK, please email us (volunteeerkpck@gmail.com) to discuss how children can be involved in volunteering.
Chemical Usage: As part of regular cleaning and sanitizing KPCK uses industry-standard chemicals. Training on proper usage and safety are available to all volunteers.
